A high level meeting was held by the Commerce Ministry on 15th September, 2021 headed by the Hon’ble Commerce Minister Tipu Munshi with the stakeholders of Textile & Clothing export and the concerned public officials.

The meeting discussion emphasized on the following issues-
• Approval of the import of yarn at a concessional tariff rate to keep the price of yarn at a reasonable level in order to continue the export growth.

• Allowing import of yarn through all the approved land, naval and seaport and reviewing the proposals of the approval of partial shipment for importing yarn through all medium.
• The issue of opening local Back-to-Back LCs for the export oriented apparel factories without a bond license and the issuance of UD by BKMEA.
Mr. Mohammad Ali Khokon, President, BTMA attended the meeting. Mr. Md. Fazlul Hoque, Vice President, BTMA, Mr. Md. Mosharaf Hossain, Director, BTMA, Syed Nurul Islam, Director ,BTMA ,Mr. Md. Badsha Miah, Former Director ,BTMA were also present in the meeting as the leadership of BTMA.
